Desire in Israel

I am planning on ordering a Desire from Clove next week.

For those in Israel or who have visited: How does the Desire work.

I am on Orange network.

you should ask this question on some Israeli forums , like these two :

www.mobilityfreak.com

there's no reason for this device no to work on the local networks , Cellcom or Orange , there might be some problem with Pelephone , becouse of the 850 band in the network .

Does Android Market work in Israel?

Will pick up my Desire in June in Scotland and wonder if I have to play with my Gmail account to access market there.
