Modifying an apk - newbie question

Hi there,

my aim is to change some images out of an apk file ("ear project").

Therefore:

1.) I created my own keystore file

2.) extracted the original apk file

3.) changed the graphics

4.) renamed to original apk file to .zip

5.) pushed the new graphics into it using WinRAR

6.) renamed the file again to .apk

7.) signed it using jarsigner

But when trying to install, it fails...

Did I do anything wrong? Was just a let's see & try from me without any background knowledge.
