Well, I've enjoyed the heck out of my omnia, and i owe a huge debt to everyone here on the forum who helped make it happen. i'd like to give special shout outs to adrynalyne, blazingwolf, and lioryte for creating some kickass roms.

I've recently jumped ship to the HTC droid incredible, and i have to say that both the phone and the android/sense combination are pretty much everything out of the box that i was struggling to make the omnia be. I'll miss the omnia, but I won't miss WinMo at all.

Well, I'll have to agree with them. I think it is pointless to open a whole new thread only to brag about your new phone. If you were somebody famous around here, we'll be crying in front of our computers for him. I think you got the message.

OKAY THEN! clearly i did a bad job of conveying my main point.

1) i didn't open a new topic just to say "bye".

2) i didn't open a new topic just to brag about my new phone (i'm sorry i even mentioned it). i know nobody cares. i didn't care when i saw "thanks and farewell" posts from people switching to the imagio, the omnia 2, and the droid. i don't expect anybody to cry in front of their computers over me. i am nobody and have never pretended otherwise.

3) i opened a new topic to say "thanks" because i'm sincerely grateful to the community. the communities here and at PPCgeeks were the only things that not only made my omnia a fun experiment, but kept me from throwing it against the wall. through these communities i found out about custom shells, ROMS, reg hacks and tweaks, all kinds of good stuff. the communities here were the support departments that samsung and microsoft should have had but didn't. i opened this thread to pat everybody here on the back and say, "well done".

4) i'll say it again. THANKS. you guys rock.

5) if you consider my gratitude a waste of your time, if reading my "thank you" is ten seconds of your life that you'll never get back, if your delicate sensibilities are that offended by a frivolous forum topic... i would suggest you don't read it (what do you expect from a topic called "farewell everyone, and thanks"?)

6) just in case anybody missed it - this community kicks butt and i am incredibly grateful to each and every contributor here, big and small.

Dudes trying to thank the community as a whole for being helpful and some people (who it seems haven't been part of modaco very long) seem to take it as some sort of personal insult. You know that the registration date doesn't mean he has been here every single day and it doesn't mean that, for example, I haven't been here long before I made my registration on the 21st August 2009 by being a lurker.

I'll tell you the main reason why such threads shouldn't exist. When he opens this kind of spam thread, he brags about his new phone, but there are a lot of other people, who are following the phone market (mainly the new phones) and want them, but don't have the money to get them. And when such people (like the author) brag "Look at me! I got an HD2!", others just feel miserable that they can't afford it, but they want it badly too. I hope that I explained it to you very clearly now.

I think moderators should delete such threads the minute they are created, because they are SPAM.

Never said he was the helpful one, if you look closely you'll see that i said thank the community as a whole for being helpful. You talk about people getting jealous reading these posts, thats how you sound. For the record your original post wasn't one of the ones i was referring to. I just think it's no big deal these posts, what i get out of them is the thanks for the community, not the, HA HA i'm getting a cool new phone. Although i personally like hearing what phone people are switching to, and what thy think about it. Again i wasn't so much referring to you as i was a couple others who were downright rude and hateful, just don't think that has any place here. Supposed to all about helping out those who need it. If those *sses who first replied had just ignored this in first place guess what, this post would had been forgotten.

Would love to hear from a moderator, paul, or anyone from modaco on this issue to clear it up once and for all. Of course this is all just my opinion but some #$!^&@ !$&*@!'s need to quit taking this stuff so personally.

I am one of those who can not afford a new phone right now but that does not mean that i´m jealous, just interrested in what other folks switches to (and thinks of theire new phone)

(yes i´ve been here since 2004 but tha doesn´t make me a master)
