New Desire user - what do I need?

Just bought myself one of these bad boys and I must say I'm MEGA impressed. It's everything that I expected my Omnia to be and more. Now with the Omnia I had a little go at modding it and doing all the funky stuff I read about on the forums but in the end found that I really just didn't care enough. I think that's pretty much the case with my Desire as far as modding it goes but what Apps should I definitely add that would benefit me in the phones performance or purly because they're damn good?

Some you will probably have no interest in, but there's a few there which no one should be without, such as android-sms (backup sms messages to gmail) and Juice Defender (makes the battery last far longer).
