Changin Google Account

Hi,

Ive just changed my google account from @googlemail.com to @gmail.com (because its easier to type), and now have realised that my phone isnt receiving the emails that are sent to my old address arent being recieved by my new one. Does anyone know how i can change this on my pulse or will i have to start fresh (in which case ill wait for some form of 2.1)

Somebody posted this suggestion in the HTC Hero forum. I'm not sure if it works but it's worth a try

Just go to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Google Apps > "Clear data" > OK.

Then Settings > Data Synchronization > Google

I had to change my google account a few months ago so read this method from cheggerspop at androidforums and it worked.

DO NOT TRY THIS!

I did it and the wizard couldn't connect to the Google servers to verify my new account! After much trawling on the net I found a solution....I had to delete the /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db file and rebooted and the wizard finally worked although all of my settings (eg. volume, brightness etc) had reset.

I think someone else on another thread here had the same problem when they did this.

I think that was probably me in the other thread... although i had the problem before i did this and had to set up another account for it to work. I got it to work in another ROM (The MDC 1.7 vanilla) but found it to glitchy. I thought it would work when i restored the backup after 2 wipes but it doesnt =(

Please could you explain what you did a bit more simply so i can understand as i am still a bit of a noob when it comes to this stuff
