Guest Yanzi Zhu Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 (edited) I rooted my desire and flashed r1-desire-modacocustomrom-withadditions-chinese-signed.zip However when I turn my device and check the internal phone storage, it gives only around 80mb available space. Any ideas why? Question Solved ! :P Edited May 12, 2010 by Yanzi Zhu
Guest 42turkeys Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 I rooted my desire and flashed r1-desire-modacocustomrom-withadditions-chinese-signed.zip However when I turn my device and check the internal phone storage, it gives only around 80mb available space. Any ideas why? Because the MoDaCo Custom Rom comes with some pre installed apps like WiFi Tether. If you want to get rid of them just uninstall or enter recovery and do a wipe of /data.
Guest bigbuffalo2009 Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 I installed the ROM without A2SD and then installed the A2SD update from the XDA website. Doing this, I now have 140mb of free space and I have installed over 15 apps. Seems to be working great.
Guest gregDT Posted May 9, 2010 Report Posted May 9, 2010 Watch out for the disappearing Market app on a reboot. Seems very common when you mix MoDaCo and the XDA A2SD app :P

It seems work a little bit cuz the available space now increases to 94mb.. how could that happen?

Guest eViL D: Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 It's because it's DEODEXED. When the system is built on first boot, it will in(dex) ALL the apk's and jar's in data/dalvik-cache. The dex files are not as big, usually, as the files they have indexed. If it were an ODEXED build, in(dex)ing would not be necessary, those (odex's) stay on the system partition.

Can I delete the files in data/dalvik-cache to enlarge the space?
Guest eViL D: Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I see. Can I delete the files in data/dalvik-cache to enlarge the space? They will be recreated on next reboot. So... yes, but it's pointless.
Guest Yanzi Zhu Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 They will be recreated on next reboot. So... yes, but it's pointless. Damn it.. :P I find your custom ROM! Excellent job! and thank you for answering so patiently! and I have couple questions: First, I found when I plugged my device to my laptop(windows xp), nothing happened... it seemed something wrong in the rom Second, I want to modify the framework-res.apk so that I can make my own theme.. but I dont know how to sign the file.. I tried Auto-Sign by Dave Da illest 1 but it didnt work at all. Every time I flash my modified framework-res.apk to my device, the device just keeped rebooting... any ideas?
