Guest geordiedavet Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 I'm having real problems with the Desire loosing network connections on Vodafone UK. Is this only happening on VF or is it other networks as well. When in a poor signal area i can loose all signal, when going to select network VF is available but handset won't connect, 1 solution is to reboot then you can get good signal2-3 bars when reconnected. Turning on airplane mode the off again this sometimes also works and gives you good connection again. This is very frustrating as it can happen 3-4 times a day without warning, you find yourself constantly checking your phone to make sure it connected. Yesterday sitting in one place phone lost all signal, wouldn't reconnect, rebooted and then had 2-3 bars signal, the phone hadn't moved. So far VF have replaced my handset with no change (still the same problem) other people on VF forum have had Sim Card changed with no change (still the same problem) Is this only happening on VF?? I'm tempted to root the desire and install new rom (any suggestions on best rom??) Would this cure the problem?? Have anyone found the stock VF rom. if i do root it and it needs to go back under warranty for any reason i would need that rom?? Any help would be greatly appreciated Dave
Guest jfran Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 have you considered returning the device as it may be faulty... hopefully its within the 14 day return period, failing that you could root the device and use any of the custom roms along with the radio update provided in the kitchen. hope that helps
Guest geordiedavet Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 Yes onto second handset already, i know some other people with the same problem on VF have also had the Simcard changed but still have the same problem. Think root and radio update could be the solution but need to find stock VF rom for warranty if ever required. but i'm open to other suggestions as well.
