Guarantee Plz advice

Hello, i recently have a bug with the ear speaker on my HTC hero and since its under a 1 year warranty i need to land it to my carrier for repair.

I need to know if have have to change my Kernel and Build.

i am on Kernel 2.6.27-mck-tecknologist and build Modaco costum rom 2.9

What are they gonna do if they find out ?

Do i need to reinstall official Kernel ( can i actualy do this ?)

Do i need to change my Build number to the original carrier version. ( Telus )

Please advise.
