Guest Willz Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 I'm thinking of playing around with my phone a lot more recently, but I want to make sure I don't lose ANYTHING. So.. I know I can make a nandroid backup through the recovery boot thingy, which will backup everything (I think). But is there any way I can backup my contacts and/or messages? Also, since I installed the Vanilla ROM recently, is this Titanium Backup thingy to backup my apps, or their information, or something? Thanks in advance. :P
Guest Bice Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 Do a nandroid backup first! Save the contacts to your simcard. Download "SMS Backup & Restore" from the market. You can save your SMSs to an .xml file. Do an other backup with the Pulse's PC suite.

Fire it up, have a look, in the list of things you can back up are SMS etc... Additionally and separately you can sync your contacts to google, by checking the sync contacts box in Data Syncronisation.

You can backup everything with those. :D. And yes do a nandroid backup before you flash a new ROM. Edited May 11, 2010 by ogiogi

I am trying Sprite backup. It has got good interface. You can choose from manual or schedule backup. Never tried restore though.

Guest Stevos Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 +1 for titanium backup. You can either backup the apps, or the data they store or both. Look through the long list of items, and the stuff that shows up in green is like the common data (contacts, calendar, sms etc) It backs them up to a folder on your SD card, so make sure you keep the files if you end up formatting or repartitioning the card. Never had a problem with it. I also keep stuff synched with google contacts, and every now and then do a backup with wavesecure (great if you got in early enough to get a free license)
