Guest Willz Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 Seriously. I love it, but really.. whether it's just me or not, but so many things seem to mess up since I got this phone. Errors upon errors. :P I installed 2.1 tonight, but decided to go back to vanilla, so I wiped, and flashed it again. But then I didn't have my contacts again, so I had to go back to another backup to make sure they were synced, and they were, so I went back to my new one and nothing. I've been going back and forth the last hour trying to sort it, but it's not happening. I've tried backing up the contacts on MyBackup Pro and that Sprite Backup one, but both of them failed. This phone is gonna blow up soon after the amount of times I've booted it, wiped it, flashed it etc. tonight. Someone help me before I smash this phone up and get something new. I love it, but it's so DAMN frustrating at times. :@
Guest Ashbeard Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Aren't they synched on google in the cloud?
Guest Willz Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Well, yeah. That's what I thought. But they're not appearing on my new one.
Guest screwface Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 :P so you install a leaked unfinished firmware and then you complain. This is all upon you.
Guest Willz Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 (edited) :P so you install a leaked unfinished firmware and then you complain. This is all upon you. This has nothing to do with the leaked firmware I installed, the contacts problem happened before that, which I somehow solved by syncing, but it doesn't appear to be working this time. I probably should have mentioned that in my first post. My bad. Edited May 12, 2010 by Willz
Guest meinnit Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Check your contact sync groups. Not sure where to find this but heres an example screenshot:
Guest summerlove Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 turn auto sync off, then turn it back on again. this works for me when i've gone back to backups. is your gmail pushing?
Guest Willz Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Didn't work either. D: I'm just gonna copy them down and enter them all again manually after I wipe it, or something. :)
Guest Azurren Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 (edited) Didn't work either. D: I'm just gonna copy them down and enter them all again manually after I wipe it, or something. :) You made a nandroid before flashing the 2.1 leek right? Just wipe and restore that backup and your phone will be exactly how it was, contacts and all. I had the same problem but with the calender ;) no matter what I did iy just would not sync. Going back to a previous backup is your best bet Edited May 13, 2010 by Azurren
Guest niko1986 Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Make sure contact sync is on, by default it isnt. Google wouldnt delete your contacts and the phone shouldnt lose the ability to sync.
Guest tido89 Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) I have a similar problem. When I create a new contact in the phone, after it syncs, the contact disappears... Please help me, this is really ridiculous. This BUG even exists on the default T-mo ROM... EDIT: Solved: By default I have my contacts in a separate group "telefon" and the phone saves the newly created contacts to the whole database and does not put it into any groups. You have to select a group for the contact to see it on the phone(if you have checked only one group) Edited May 18, 2010 by tido89
