Maybe interesting about vibrate bug:

If you wipe after flashing the rom vibrate works again (the phone will be stuck on bootscreen though)

Apart from the restarts I'm really impressed with this release. Definitely seems faster/smoother than MCR 1.7 Vanilla, and there are what almost seem like *hardware* improvements - the camera is so much better, and changing screen brightness doesn't cause a horrible flickering effect any more. If this is just a beta, can't wait for the final! Keep up the good work guys!

I tried already different flashing ways.

1. from 1.8 directly to 2.1 without wiping (won't start)

2. wiping everything and then 2.1 r4 after r3

3. 1.8 to r3 to r4

nothing worked

What did the users do who got a working and vibrating fon?

EDIT: D'you mean only wiping the darvik cache?

So, if I solve the FlashPuzzle, the steps to boot the 2.1 rom correctly are:

1.Wipe

2.Wipe Dalvik-cache

3.Flash ROM

4.pull out SD-card.

5. Reboot but DO NOT wipe.

Is this correct?

So pullout SD card after the roms flashed, while still in recovery mode?? then just reboot phone option in recovery??

I personally was gonna leave SD in my phone and reboot, whats the difference?

You've to pull out the memory card if the fon isn't starting/in a boot loop. The problem is caused by an app called "app2sd".

Otherwise you can just leave in the sd-card.

However it is T-mobile so it's a bit..ewww

Also button mix at the bottom is really going to annoy me

aaaaand YESSS!

This is the way to start the ROM.

I've just did these steps and my Pulse booted for about 5 minutes.

Now I'm gonna try it out ^^

Thanks BoBo and Paul :)

If you're not trying to use Apps2SD then you don't need to pull the SD card.

At least the times I've flashed 2.1 it's been fine, I have no ext partition on the SD because I've not been using Apps2SD because it's causes too many problems.

App2Sd doesn't cause problems?

I've been using it all day with over 30 apps installed my phone hasn't rebooted or errored.

I DO NOT have vibrate working

Coming from 1.7 MCR vanilla, here is what I did:

- chose the wipe option in recovery mode.

- I *tried* to wipe the dalvik cache but got an error saying something about adb

- chose to update the phone using the file on the card

- phone updated and went back to recovery console

- pulled out the sd card

- chose the reboot option.

As I say, doing the above, vibrate does not work. Not sure what the key step is.

Apart from that, the ROM looks quite stable and very fast. Still suffering from the stuttering list scrolling that the T-Mob ROMs suffered from before (the vanilla ROM greatly improved list scrolling).

Oh yeah, and the gallery seems to be the same as 1.5 for some reason.
