SMS unread count & Handcent

Does anyone use these two apps on their phone? When i was using my hero on 1.5, i could set handcent as my default sms app and sms unread count would open handcent when pressed. Now, on my Desire and also on the hero running any 2.1 rom, even though I have cleared the defaults and set up Handcent as my default sms app, the sms unread count widget still opens the Android messaging app.

Any ideas?

i know it does but it says Handcent.. i want one that says messages! i know its stupid and weird, but its my little OCD thing kicking in!
