What are r1 and r2 ... ?

Hi,

Could you please explain what are modaco r1 or r2 ROMs ?

for example what's the meaning of each phrase of this zip file : full_arabic_rom_for_desire_based_on_modaco_r1_Arabic_Android_Plus_r2_signed.zip

(above file may download from this url on google code site : Full Arabic enabled ROM for Desire ONLY based on Modaco r1 - WIPE and APPLY - Get the App from the market to unlock Right-to-left support)

does this file add Persian / Arabic support to Desire certainly ?

If you mean the MCR then I'd assume yes!

The higher number is most times better with bugfixes etc. so its recommend to get the higher number

What is the base for r2? 1.15.405.4? Will it upgrade the HBOOT? I currently am using r1 and have HBOOT 0.75 and want to know if r2 upgrades you to HBOOT 0.80 and what software the base is, because I want to stay at 1.15.405.4 and HBOOT 0.75 so I can go back to stock if I need to.

why do you want to stay at 1.15.405.4? you can always get back to stock 1.15.405.4

for what i know mcr is based on the stock rom (currently 1.21.xxx.x) and additions from cyanogen and own modaco tweaks.

I just want to make sure I can flash the stock Telstra firmware back onto the device if I need to using the RUU. So if I update to mcr r2 or r3, it won't upgrade the bootloader and I should be able to go back to the stock Telstra branded version by using a goldcard and HTC RUU file? The Telstra RUU is 1.15.841.14.

if you have the telstra ruu you can always get back to it
