2.1 now or wait other few days?

Hi, my pulse is working quite fine in these day with 1.7 vanilla. I was wandering why i would put 2.1 on?

How is it working? Speed? Battery?

Is there someone that can write a review of his experience?

Shuold i wait for some other days?

The speed is a bit better than with 1.8b especially with a costum-luncher like home++ or zeam. The problem is that probably vibrations won't work and some processes hang up.

If you like to experiment the 2.1r4 is perfect for you but if you wan't a stable and well working fon stay on 1.7.

Im on 2.1 now and I think its not stable enough for normal use (where I don't have to find workarounds for things like vibrate) and would recommend you stay with 1.7 vanilla until they either find a newer version of 2.1 or fix most of the bugs and slowdowns

I would personally flash it right now, I dont need vibration, everything is working fine now, just make sure you wipe before flashing or u will encounter lots of errors.. Also install Autokiller..

With constant slow downs, force closes and freezes requiring a reboot the 2.1 rom is strictly for a preview.

However I would recommend doing a nandroid, wiping and then applying the rom as it is a must see. But please don't try and use it ;)

I almost threw it across the room just now as it froze right before I pressed send on a very lengthy pm I was writing to help someone :)

If you rely on your android for an alarm i'd hold off - if the .acore thing freezes during the night your alarm won't go off

Whooaa cheers for the heads up my girlfriend would go mental if the alarm did nt get her up for work...thats a sign for me to wait !

browsing some pages freezes the phone once in a while...I think its running out of memory...will try to move some stuff over to SD without using the full-blown a2sd...

edit: oh, and if you need to ask if you should try 2.x...then stick with 1.x =]

well that can happen with the dez upgrade too if you have the "sync time with network" function enabled

the clock stops at night and it resyncs only when you "wake" it up

Personally i'm waiting for the official release.A few people seem to be having issues with the 2.1 beta. 1.7 is good enough for me.

With 2.1 can you actually use the camera with ShopSavvy reliably? At the moment I find its a one-in-a-million shot to get every variable perfect for it to recognise a bar-code....

If everyone did that no one would ever try these new ROM's out.

I was a n00b till last night and had never done it before. So learned how to root my phone then learned how to flash it.

I say if you want to flash it, go for it BUT be very careful and follow instructions to the letter.

I'd say the camera is much better than 1.5. Autofocus is far, far faster.

Only thing is, i've noticed a few lines through the photographs I've taken. Obviously still a few issues with the drivers.

Yes, camera is pretty pretty good, and autofocus is much better, but in some pictures i se some lines but its ok... Im back to 1.7 :) ;)
