Guest ed.dark Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 In winmo which I used to use, it was easy to beam any file with any extension via Bluetooth. I have tried Astro, Android mate and es file explorer but it seems that if I want to send a .zip file for example, the popup wont let me send it via BT. It allows me to send a .jpg but not a lot else! Is it posible to change a setting somewhere to allow the "complete action using...." dialogue to include bluetooth for any file type? I have used the app "BLuetooth file transfer" from the market but it wont work for me. Surely this is simple???
Guest afiorillo Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Android doesn't support BT file transfer for files other than a few media types (JPG, MP3, ecc.). By installing Medieval Software's Bluetooth File Transfer you will be able to share virtually anything on your phone with your mates; the drawback is an extra service running in background and some effort in configuring the app (which is not so intuitive).
Guest ed.dark Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Thanks. It seems a bit crap doesn't it? I tried the App you said and it wont work with the default win 7 BT stack! renaming an unsupported file type to .jpg for example allows a .apk or .zip etc to be sent though. Surely android os has a .conf file somewhere which can be edited to allow all file types to be registered for BT sending?
