A2SD Swap folder

Hello,

I've yet to completely understand the function of the swap folder in the A2SD process, if someone would be kind enough and enlighten me of its purpose i'd be grateful...And is there an optimum point as to how big the Ext3 folder should be?

I made mine like so:

8GB SDHC memory card

Partition 1: (rest of space) FAT32

Partition 2: 512MB ext2

Partition 3: 32MB linux-swap

So basically the swap folder is not needed, just wanted to know its functionality, would i be missing something by setting it on 0, guess not...
