Is anyone else having problems with this board tracking what they've read?

I'm finding that every time there appears to be some server trouble (timeouts, SQL errors), everything is being set to "read". Also, whenever I close a browser without reading every unread subject, on the next reopen it is marking every post made prior to the first read session as "read".

Is this normal?

This is making this board impossible to follow for me, especially with the exponential rise in users lately. It's so difficult that I'm no longer trying to read all posts, as it's far too time-consuming to get every post read in each session. I'd rather read some topics, then come back to others later, as I don't need to be informed of every new post made in that subject (e.g. something I'm not particularly interested in). However, the best that is possible just now is to check now and then on any subject line that sounds interesting. You miss a lot of snippets of info this way.

The best tip is to keep only one window open at a time. Which it seems you're doing.

I've not had any problems since the past server outage. The site seems faster and nice and responsive now. Are you doing anything specific before getting the errors?

Yeap you are not alone there. I just logged on for the first time today and saw many red folders on the main page. Once I clicked the MAIN section, everything turned to 'READ'. Now i'm looking at dates and times to check for the latest posts. AARRGGHHH

Yep, when I close the browser after I've been reading it's always setting everything read. This actually suits me quite well tho
