Guest racingclub Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 I played around with the Eclair release (both r4 & r6), but got tired of the reboots (props to the guys for working on it tho!) Now when I'm back on 1.7MCR I've got doubts about my Android Market. I can't find apps like Twidroid to download, and some apps are duplicated in the market list. Anyone else had this? I've wiped and reinstalled a few times now, but still no joy. My missus's Pulse with 1.7 finds Twidroid fine, but she hasnt tried out 2.1......

Guest eckengucker1 Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 nope - I've tried my Nandroid backup - still the same problem. cleared cache?
Guest racingclub Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 cleared cache? thanks for the ideas, but no, still no Twidroid in Market after clearing...
Guest alpha232 Posted May 15, 2010 Report Posted May 15, 2010 Never had an issue like that, although if you use a website like androidzoom.com to browse the market and use the barcode scanner to download and see how that goes.
Guest racingclub Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 not sure if my device 'fingerprint' is now wrong.... does this make sense? http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Andr...a9a1b&hl=en Can people on 2.1 try a search for me? some apps I cant see are Twidroid, Pkt Auctions eBay, ShopSavvy... Thanks!
Guest racingclub Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 seems like other Modaco users have had the same issues.... http://android.modaco.com/content-page/295...tplace/page/40/ Paul, any ideas?
Guest TheBrownBottle Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) not sure if my device 'fingerprint' is now wrong.... does this make sense? http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Andr...a9a1b&hl=en Can people on 2.1 try a search for me? some apps I cant see are Twidroid, Pkt Auctions eBay, ShopSavvy... Thanks! I had the same problem today. I tried a Nandroid restore and reapplyed the 1.7 ROM but it didn't solve it. As you discovered it seems to be a problem with your Google account. I solved the problem by. 1. Goto Settings > Manage Applications > Google Apps and then select Clear Data. 2. Goto the Market. You will be prompted to sign in or create a new account. 3. Create a new account. You will be signed in. 4. Goto the Market and search for Twidroid. You should find it. If not try a reboot. 5. Download Twidroid 6. Repeat the process from step 1 but sign in using your original account. Your account should now be OK. :) Remember to sync your settings first. EDIT: This doesn't work so don't waste your time ;) Edited May 16, 2010 by TheBrownBottle
Guest racingclub Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 thanks for the advice TBB. did you do the above on your Cupcake build?

After a reboot the market is once again bust. It must have cached the data from the new account. ;) By the way I re-applied the 2.1 ROM and you cannot view ShopSavvy, Twidroid etc so it seems my Google account is now broke. The new account is fine so I guess I'll just have to use that. Thankfully I don't use the old one for anything apart from signing into the phone.
Guest racingclub Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 thanks for replying. I *really* dont want to create a new google account.... :)
Guest racingclub Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 I've downgraded to the stock T-mobile December release, but still my account is knackered.... This is pretty annoying... :)
Guest racingclub Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 at the risk of continually replying to my own thread...but.... I've managed to fix the problem. Seems from posts on XDA that one way to get your market working again is to use a Donut device (which has a different market app to 1.5). Bought a nice new G1 and signed in, bingo, my market account is good again
