Hi Guys was just trying to get Barnacle WiFi tether working on my Pulse on the 2.1 rom. Has anyone got this working on there Pulse 2.1 or 1.5??

Traced issue to the Fix 3 UK app I had insatlled on 1.5 which I restored from my ti backup. Have unistalled this which has now allowed this awsome app to run!

Im running oscellation rom (latest version) and while it connects I cant get it to run without my laptop showing "no internet access"

Any ideas anyone?

running latest oscillation too, when I launch barnacle and click start it logs a message saying permission denied and process stopped unexpectedly, how did you get past this point?

no it never mentions it, though the oscillation rom is rooted

Check that usb debugging is still enabled on the settings.. Though I don't know if that's it.

Do any other root apps work?

Works fine for me on 2.1 ROMs although I have had the wifi service (on the phone) drop out and need restarting sometimes.

I'd say this is an essential app for when broadband goes down (as seems to happen regularly around these parts.)

Highly recommended.

I did have a problem with barnacle at first.

Just wipe everything and reflash if it is that important to you. Worked for me

I use this (under both 1.5 & 2.1) and did have problems too.

The fix is to specify a DNS server in Barnacle > Settings > DHCP.

I use Google DNS - 8.8.8.8 ;)

The first time I ever used Barnacle was with my iPod Touch cos someone wanted me to try a game and I had no connection. It worked fine as soon as I hit the button. And it seemed fast!

I'm running Oscillation R7 too. Barnacle works fine straight out the box for me. Great app, I wouldn't have known about it unless I saw this post. Makes me wonder what else I'm missing out on.

Just downloaded this and its working right out the box. Best app I have on my phone to date. Am wrting this whilst surfing with barnacle. Speeds are good on Orange and Linux picked it up instantly. I cap now ditch the annoying USB broadband stick and its also now one less thing to remember!

Like the previous post says, what else am I missing out on????????

The upload data amount on Barnacle is greater than what the connection on the computer shows. It's seems the phone is constantly uploading something. More than when the phone is not connected to a computer and the data connection is active.

Edit: The Barnacle data traffic is total WiFi traffic. The upload shown by the app I have for cell data activity is less than what Barnacle shows and comparable to the what the computer connection shows. I guess it is some updating of the WiFi connection between the phone and the computer.
