Battery consumption with 1.100.05

Hi,

I have installed rom 1.100.05 and noticed strange battery consumption. I have live wallpaper activated and, in aero mode, the battery has dropped from 34% to 4% in just 7 hours! No particular applications installed. Nexus One live wallpaper. Did you noticed that too? Does live wallpaper draw battery also when screen is off? I guess not.

Which is your situation?

Thanks

Matroska

Same here but no LW. Using original bin. Will try vache or LCR mod just to try to improve battery. I barely do one day with full charge and all sensors off.

Yea im using this rom for 2 days now, and i noticed a difference between 1.100.05 and my previous donut rom, consumption around 25% more then usual.

Now when its idle i cant really find much difference, but when using the phone its a different story, it drains faster then before... :)

Strange here ;)

I only consumed 10% battery in the time when I was sleeping (about 7-8hours) :(

I just put the phone into standby mode, No Wi-Fi turning on :D

But still receving signals from my telecommunication provider.

I am not talking about the usage time, but the standby time is quite the same with the Donut one :) Or even batter??

Ofc the Live Wallpapers drains the battery

But with a normal picture , the battery time is much than previously Roms

I noticed that, if I use the android battery consumption window, all the consumption is in cell in standby element and this means that no network is active by error (indeed aero mode deactivates networks). This also means that there is some process that eats cpu cycle in bakground...We need to find it..and kill it!

Cheers

Ciao matroska, i think u are italian like me,i have your same problem with this leak. I notify with "system" application (you could find it on the market) that the most time battery is employed from the launcher!!!!!

try also the application juicydefender, really nice even on the market.

I solved the issue here, it seemed my previous task killer was draining the battery.

I charged the phone 3 hours ago, still around 96%... think thats ok :)

So are you suggesting to switch to another launcher like helix 2 for example? Thanks

It would be nice to replace the widget on the monitoring of the battery with the mod in the percentage of battery directly on the bar, like the Rom of evil .. in this way we have one programm less that continuous consumption of the battery .. for this reason I opened a thread request http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...ttery-1-100-05/ for ask if someone make out the black bar with percentage battery like the bar in the evil rom .. i hope someone realized ...

Just don't use airplane mode.

I find that if I fiddle with airplane mode, the phone starts eating 5+ percent battery per hour, whereas normal consumptoin under good coverage is 1-2%.

This happened in all ROM's i tried.

been using the plain rom for these days, battery performance is good, an idle fone drains some 1-2% per hour.

if you like tracking down the bat eaters, task killers might help as many background apps fooling around without notice

Indeed, it's "Juice defender", instead of "Juicy" ;-)

I can't find the "system" application either. what's the exact full name please ?

absolutely yes! Yesterday i changed the rom with the last xian's one!!! as i suppose, this rom has only helix launcher on start up....and as i suspected, I had a great energy saving. From 22.00 pm to 6.00 am with phone in standby only 2% consumpiotns.Great Rom, great energy safer!

Same here! xian and now energy saving is back to normal. It is Acer tool's that make it drain....

Guys, don't worry!

Everytime you flash a new BIN you will experience this problem for the first 1 or 2 days. It is the software that "thinks" it is brand new and "conditions" the battery.

I didn't have this issue with other bins. And I have tested most of them. There is something that really uses too much battery and drains it. It took me more than 2 days to realize that it was not normal.

But I have read that xian uses particular cpu settings to limit cpu frequency. So I think Xian rom energy savings gain could be attribute to that and not only to launcher.

I think to have found the problem...I noticed that when connections is off (I guess also in aero mode), brut maps start throwing a long list of exceptions...you can see it in logcat. I have to check but I guess this is the problem.

This is unusable. At the previous ROM the battery dropped only 8% by night, so it was 92% in the morning. With the 1.100.05 final ROM, it was 50% in the morning. Now I installed setcpu, but the battery is still dropping 4% / hour without use. Maybe the battery meter was bad previously, or this ROM is so battery eating?

What launcher are you using? try helix launcher (2) or launcher pro

There's probably an app that is eating the battery. The apps that run in the background can be found In Settings -> Applications -> Running Services. These are active, whereas apps listed in taskmanagers are actually "suspended" until they're brought to the foreground. I get a little bit less than 1% batt drop per hour of cell standby.
