Well, it's not a very noticable difference, but 1 more MFLOP/s in the benchmark is not half bad :).

Ok, I just enabled it and got a tiny bit faster than zerosignull. my problem is not that it's not fast, but that it's very unstable. I haven't had any forced shutoffs, but I've had loads of 'program crashed' errors, and when everything is crashing it's really snow. It probably won't be much good until froyo, if we ever get that.

Think we must have installed different dalvik's. Mine is prity stable with.

Same here, not more unstable than my rom already was with a2sd enabled :).

No I didn't, but I avaraged somewhere around 3.4. Somethimes though it went as low as 1.7, pondering if it has something to do with a2sd, or perhaps it just does that from time to time?

Well, exactly. Sometimes it's pretty fast, but sometimes it's really slow and everything's crashing.

I've installed this, system hung a few times when I first booted up, but after that it seemed really stable.

Which one did U use?

Installed it, stable, but wery slooow, 0.5 linpack MFlops. Looks as if it were not JIT.

*edit: once it was 3.2, but most of the time it is 0.5 and 2.0

*edit 2: strangely Zeam did this, removing it runs JIT well and stable

technically i was using the same dalvik that came in the rom. I didn't realise i needed to put the new dalvik into the lib folder. I was only using the other two .ko files

On a fresh boot with Linpack, I'm getting 3.65 consistantly.

Do you recommend to install this stuff? Im on Bobo&Paul's r6.1 with LauncherPro Beta and its quite fast already but i think this can be faster.. :) My linpack score is around 2,4 atm.

Launchers can cause problems, Zeam made it down to 0.47...

@BoBo: instead of around 2.6

Yes, absolutely, it is not so complicated and it is worth

Not a clue, I only installed it because I expected it to break everything and be quickly uninstalled. I'll swap nandroid images later and do some proper benchmarking.

Okay, went back and did it properly, ran Linpack after killing all background tasks with TaskPanel. W/out JIT, all scores were around 2.2. With JIT, all scores were around 3.5.

I know it's not really of much difference, but the great Cyanogen told me recently there are 8 good reasons not to use JIT in 2.1. Some of our ROM users use it (Hero), but I personally don't like the instability. Froyo (2.2) should have JIT be default though, so lets hope for 2.2 releases :)

what were the 8 reasons?
