Guest Hofy Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) As you all know our glorious, state of the art phone comes with a 2,5mm-3,5mm JACK adapter/transformer. A few days ago I successfully "lost" that little plastic stuff which protected the Jack and USB connectors. Maybe some dust got into the phone, maybe something else, but the JACK connector is now malfunctioning: the sound is weak and has terrible quality. Now initially I thought that there's a problem with the JACK adapter, so I bought a new one from my local hardware store. I even tried it with the stock-earphones...No change at all. However I discovered that if I gently "force" the transformer's head left or right, the normal sound comes back sometimes. not anymore. So my question is simple: is there any way to repair this at home? If not, where to get further assistance? I haven't rooted the phone (yet) so the warranty isn't void. But here in Hungary it takes ages to handle such "legal" issues. Hofy Edited May 17, 2010 by Hofy

From experience I've found that anything audio related is a nightmare to fix if you don't have a clue what you are doing :) Plus opening it up would require the right tools, you may also damage something when you're trying to force the thing. If it is really important to you I suggest you send it in for repairs.. I know it may take ages but it is your best option.

Hofy I had the same problem and i didnt want to take the risk on opening it, i also had the warranty so i gave it to t-mobile and after a week they gave it back and they told me that they had to replace the whole motherboard so basicaly a new phone. If you got warranty then give it to the specialists.
