When applying the December update on the Pulse we loose root and the custom recovery image. Maybe this is the case with the non pulse too. Edited May 17, 2010 by ogiogi

Guest Andy Veliz Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 So did u try to reinstall the custom recovery image? yes i did, but since i dont have a pulse with "december update" Vol- + home doesn't work and because I dont have root access i can't "reboot recovery" and with this firmware I don't have android market, so i cant use quickboot :S i'm kinda stuck with this one...
Guest Andy Veliz Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 i was looking a little more into this issue and it the thing is, it cant mount the partitions i'm doing this in the "loaded from the pc" custom recovery, the only one i can access. cat /etc/fstab /dev/block/mtdblock1 /system yaffs2 rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /cache yaffs2 rw /dev/block/mtdblock2 /data yaffs2 rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 /sdcard vfat rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 /system/sd auto rw but when I ls /dev/block ls -la drwxr-xr-x 2 0 0 460 May 17 18:42 . drwxr-xr-x 11 0 0 3060 May 17 18:42 .. brw------- 1 0 0 7, 0 May 17 18:42 loop0 brw------- 1 0 0 7, 1 May 17 18:42 loop1 brw------- 1 0 0 7, 2 May 17 18:42 loop2 brw------- 1 0 0 7, 3 May 17 18:42 loop3 brw------- 1 0 0 7, 4 May 17 18:42 loop4 brw------- 1 0 0 7, 5 May 17 18:42 loop5 brw------- 1 0 0 7, 6 May 17 18:42 loop6 brw------- 1 0 0 7, 7 May 17 18:42 loop7 brw------- 1 0 0 179, 0 May 17 18:42 mmcblk0 brw------- 1 0 0 179, 1 May 17 18:42 mmcblk0p1 brw------- 1 0 0 179, 2 May 17 18:42 mmcblk0p2 brw------- 1 0 0 179, 3 May 17 18:42 mmcblk0p3 brw------- 1 0 0 31, 0 May 17 18:42 mtdblock0 brw------- 1 0 0 1, 0 May 17 18:42 ram0 brw------- 1 0 0 1, 1 May 17 18:42 ram1 brw------- 1 0 0 1, 2 May 17 18:42 ram2 brw------- 1 0 0 1, 3 May 17 18:42 ram3 brw------- 1 0 0 1, 4 May 17 18:42 ram4 brw------- 1 0 0 1, 5 May 17 18:42 ram5 brw------- 1 0 0 1, 6 May 17 18:42 ram6 brw------- 1 0 0 1, 7 May 17 18:42 ram7
Guest BigBearMDC Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 yes i did, but since i dont have a pulse with "december update" Vol- + home doesn't work and because I dont have root access i can't "reboot recovery" and with this firmware I don't have android market, so i cant use quickboot :S i'm kinda stuck with this one... You can access the bootloader through PWR + red key + vol down. Then reflash the recovery image. Once this is done, you should be able to boot the recovery image :) Best regards, BigBear

Guest Andy Veliz Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 PWR + menu + red key :) doesn't work in non pulse model... i had to run adb reboot recovery from the "non-working" "loaded from the pc" version of the recovery... ehehe then the recovery image worked... now trying to flash the 1.7 vanilla ROM...
Guest Andy Veliz Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 Nice! everything works, had to replace my boot.img with the one in the firmware update, but now i have the 1.7 vanilla ROM... i'll try ur 2.1 ROM Bear... :)
