Guest EddyOS Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) I spec'd an r3 ROM with the Android boot screen and the what not but I still get the HTC one, and I can't for whatever reason flash a radio - it reads the ZIP but doesn't apply it. Am I doing something wrong? This is what I'm doing: - Using r4 method to root phone (seems to work OK, but phone infor still shows it as generic 1.15.405.4 but it does have the SU Permissions link in the program menu) - Boot to recovery - Flash ROM - Power down - Boot to recovery to format SD card for A2SD+ - Power down - Boot up phone, still has HTC splash screen when Android one spec'd - Shows correct version in phone information but other than that I've no idea if it's worked - Power down phone - Boot to recovery and flash radio - says reading radio but nothing about applying it - reboot and still on stock radio This is what the recovery console says: Install from sdcard... Finding update package... Opening update package... Verifying update package... Installing update package... Extracting radio image... Reboot via vol-up+vol-down or menu to complete installation Edited May 17, 2010 by EddyOS
Guest EddyOS Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) Ahhh...its now writing radio image upon reboot, d'oh!! Never done that before... still, anyone know anything else? Is it working fine? Edited May 17, 2010 by EddyOS
Guest EddyOS Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 (edited) Right, gone screwed things up here... removing Facebook/Peep means I can't use friendstream (even tho I have the latest APK(s) in the ROM) and when I go to Accounts & sync it reboots the phone...something not right here!! Time to start again!! Edited May 17, 2010 by EddyOS
Guest speedking34 Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 You my friend, need to learn how to use the edit button. It is my understanding that multi-posting is againts the rules? Anyways, flashing the radio has always been that way: You flash the zip, the phone reboots and finishes the installation upon reboot. As a precaution, do a nandroid bakcup then wipe before flashing a new rom.
Guest EddyOS Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 I know how to use the edit button but thought it wouldn't read properly hence why I put multiple posts - I had the reader's best interests at heart!!! I now know the radio flashes upon reboot of the system but I think it's the way I'm doing it that's wrong as only once I've had a little window telling me I've successfully flashed the MCR ROM on first boot... I'm gonna try and have a play today and actually get it working - I'd just like someone to actually help as opposed to just reading and pointing out what I already know. Anyone know why the boot screen isn't changing? Do I format an SD card for A2SD before flashing the ROM or do I boot the phone and do it at a later date? No one has given a definative answer
Guest Paul Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 You probably shouldn't be surprised if removing Peep / Facebook breaks Friendstream! :) What do you mean re: the boot screen? P
Guest EddyOS Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Frienstream wasn't the issue really, it was then clicking on 'Accounts & Sync' reboots the phone so I can't sync my Gmail account...gone back to stock for now and gonna start again tonight from scratch. Got the radio bit working now as didn't know you had to select 'Reboot System now' for it to work - I always did power down! RE. Boot screen: I selected to use the stock Android boot screen instead of the HTC one but this has never worked. Again, it may be me doing things wrong so will try again tonight

P I'm not getting the N1 boot screen either? I selected the box and just to make sure I made another rom and reflashed, still no N1 boot screen. Strange huh?
