Guest hassand Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 im gonna use a2sd and install it while flashing mcr. there are 2 options there in the kitchen, to install a2sd or a2sd+, what's the difference and which one i should go for? the other question is about partitioning i have an 8 gb sd card that i plan to use 2gb for apps, hence i partition 2gb ext3, the question is what is "swap" partition, some people have it some people dont, why should i have it or why should i not, or what is difference? :) and the rest ill just leave as fat32
Guest bcmobile Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 im gonna use a2sd and install it while flashing mcr. there are 2 options there in the kitchen, to install a2sd or a2sd+, what's the difference and which one i should go for? Not sure - I use a different version. I assume one moves dalvik cache to your SD, the other doesn't??? the other question is about partitioning i have an 8 gb sd card that i plan to use 2gb for apps, hence i partition 2gb ext3, That's a lot of data for apps. I used 1Gb of my 8Gb card and never even got close to half full. the question is what is "swap" partition, some people have it some people dont, why should i have it or why should i not, or what is difference? :) and the rest ill just leave as fat32 The swap partition is like a paging file (virtual memory) if you're familiar with Windows. I don't know if the standard Desire kernel will even use it. Anyone know??
