Guest DaBeeeenster Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Hi, If I enable this on my desire, it appears in my OSX network preferences as "Android Phone", but I'm not sure what information to enter into the Telephone Number, Account Name or Password. I'm on O2. Anyone know?
Guest mooves Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 (edited) Ive tried to get this running too but no luck. Normally with usb / bluetooth connections you dial *99# with no username or password and it connects. seems at this stage the only way to use it is to bootcamp into Windows install HTC sync and then it works. Actually this works perfectly in Linux (Ubuntu) also. I've just tried it and it works just fine. Maybe Jobs has decided that only iPhones can connect to Mac ?

Guest daveba Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 What settings are you using? There is no settings. USB 3g connectivitiy is built into the network manager applet in Ubuntu. You just plug it into the USB and select USB internet on the phone dialog that pops up on the desire and then select usb0 internet on the network applet and you're tethered.
Guest mooves Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Not true. on my HTC magic I was able to Bluetooth tether it using WiFi tether for root. Just waiting for it work on the desire... I'm no Mac Expert, but it worked with one of the phones I tried on Leopard
