Problems with 8gb SD

Hi, i recently got a 8gb Class 2 SD card for my Liquid but every now and then it says "SD card unexpectedly removed" or "Blank SD card"

The only option i have is to format it.

Then i have to restart the phone to get the sd working again.

First i thought i didn't put it in all the way and it disconnected or something. But it also happens when i don't touch the phone at all.

Is the SD card corrupted or does the liquid have problems with Class 2 cards? (i read that android can't fully utilize class >2 cards anyway)

I bought the same card for my girlfriends Galaxy Spica and she has no problems at all.

My phone just trashed my 16GB card (on its own) was just using it and then it was gone (dont know what class it is - rubbish class from car phone warehouse I would think)

Cant get it back and I have loads of photos on it.........

If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate suggestions (or I will have to format the thing!)

So anyone got any suggestions? Should i get another SD card class 2 or class 6 ?

I've noticed that the problem won't happen if you're actually using the SD Card. So I tried placing a picture frame widget on my main screen and pausing the music player on a song which is into the SD Card.

I've been running my phone for 24 hours now, without having the sd card unmounted o_O'

same thing here. 8gb class 2 card does a sd card removed after a day or two.

2gb card no problems so far.

I have used a class 2 8gb (bought at pixmania) for almost 4 months and haven't had a single issue ever!

It hasn't been ruled out that the problem is with the sd card, is it?

It usually happened 3-4 times a day.

Only thing i did was to install LCR 1.6 but i doubt that's the reason.

I can affirm this.

I had those Problems for a long time, but since I have picture in a Frame on the Home screen, I never got these problems again.

I never thought of a cohension of these two facts, but it seems to be right!

tried a couple of mem recover tools - came up with bad sectors - so looks as if its all gone!

Mine was a Sandisk class 2

Mine was trashed just after I came out of a program having backed up to the SD card ..... not warning at all..... just gone!

Have been using a 2GB one I got from China for 99p - that seems OK up to now ..... but its not big enough (have nearly 3G of music let alone the photos etc)

Will try to get it exchanged at car phone warehouse ( their techincal guy has been trying to help) so we will see what the shop says (I bought it on line so they may be miffed)

Nevermind, it happened again. And shortly after that the liquid crashed completely again too :rolleyes:

I have a Kinsgton 8 gig 4 class since day one. No problemo with any ROM I tried.

my dodgy 8gb c2 is also a sandisk.

Out of curiosity, those with dodgy sd's, where did you buy yours?

I think the problem is in the class of the card. Class=speed and there is not enough speed on class 2.

My Transcend microSDHC 6 class 8GB works good for all the time and a user @4pda.ru have the same problem with 2 class 8GB card.

That's crap.

My card is from ebay; paid extra for it to come with the phone. I wonder if it's a REAL sandisk...

Class shouldnt matter, it should only affect performance. Not "SD CARD REMOVED"

Yea i bought mine from amazon so i'm sure it's real. Also as i said before i read somewhere that android can't use card speeds above class 2 so i got that. (happened again overnight btw sigh)

Guess i'll have to buy a class 4 or 6...

Guy @4pda.ru uses Apacer card and has the same problem. And common thing is 2 class only.

I have the same problem as you guys with a 4 GB card but this never happened when I was under 1.6 ROM.

Only with the LCR 1.6 I have this problem.

So now i bought a Transcend 8gb class 6 and it's working fine for 24 hours now. So far so good :rolleyes:
