get the nexus 1 rom

go into the system/media folder

copy out the animation.zip into your cooked rom folder

rebuild it.... and say godbye to another 2.5mb of space ;)

Slightly off-topic, but does anyone have the boot-animation for htc tattoo? I think it would make perfect sense to use it on any android device, including our pulse :). I've already searched the web and the forums, but I've found no downloadable file for it.

Edit: talk about getting ahead of myself, I should just try to download the htc rom from here, silly me! Let's see how it goes...

Just got back in was totally going to do a tutorial :D

anyway here it is using adb :)

ADB push bootanimation.zip /sdcard/bootanimation.zip

ADB shell

$ su

# mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock6 /system

# cp /sdcard/bootanimation.zip /system/media/

# mount -o ro,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock6 /system

# reboot

And heres a link to a few boot animations - dont forget to save them as bootanimation.zip ;)

Oh, and a follow-up on my previous post. The htc bootscreens seems to defer from the ones used by stock android phones, does anyone know if they can be made to work?

That's how the whole layout of the tattoos bootscreen-process looks, it's placed in /system/media like it is in the zip. It defers quite a bit from the boot-animations that have been mentioned previously in the thread (it includes sound, the animations are gifs instead of several pngs etc). Of course I'm just interested in the appearing droid, and after that I'm looking to replace the htc-logo with the android-logo.

If you want to use an other boot animation you've to change desc.txt to "480 320 8p"

copy the file to \system\media

bootanimation.zip

That 8p is the speed aswell... i think

Pretty rubbish really only took me half an hour, but this is my first go!

Heres the download link if any one wants ago.. just follow the tut before.
