Trouble flashing new ROMS

okay here is my problem,

I have flashed to the latest acer bin, I have tried to flash Xian 0.7a, this boots up but I end up with a blank screen, then I tried LCR1.6 also same result, but I get to see their new logo.... but then a blank screen

both instances the screen is on youcan see that it is lit but the desktop doesn't come up. Is there something I am doing wrong

I have tried doing a full wipe before flashing

I am using malez latest recovery image.

Is there something blindingly wrong I am doing? mind you Xian 0.6b still flashes ok.
