Guest Massimo Gengarelli Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 Hi, I'd like to use my Acer Liquid for tethering the connection and navigate using my laptop and my phone as a modem. When I owned an HTC Tattoo there was a voice under Wireless Settings to easily do that, while on Acer Liquid there isn't. If I'm using Windows I just use pdaNet but under Linux I'd like to have a better tethering, as I need to use SSH, FTP and many other services. I tried proxoid but it's just basilar HTTP and that's not what I really want. WiFi tethering using the app found in the Market doesn't work, neither do BT via pdaNet. I'm using LCR 1.6 over 1.100 Android 2.1 leaked bin.

I am writting these work on my computer, using my phone wifi connection (edge/3g works too). You can use SSH FTP too as tetherbot acts like a socks proxy. Edited May 22, 2010 by malez
Guest Seth Cold Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 is there a way to do so via Bluetooth in eclair?
Guest Massimo Gengarelli Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 is there a way to do so via Bluetooth in eclair? Using PdaNet and ArchLinux I've got BT tethering without problems. Now let's hope for Acer to release the kernel sources so we may have WiFi tethering
Guest sede Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I use PROXOID to share the internet when needed. It uses USB cable and the development kit needs to be installed on the computer. Works really good.
