Guest quarros Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 (edited) Hi folks. I just have my shiny new HTC Desire and it works wonderfully for me but i noticed a small problem with it and i hope that all of you can tell me if the problem was general or is it only with my machine. So here is the case: When I'm on a call and I switch to the speaker the voice that comes out is distorted, recognizable, understandable, but distorted. Even if i set the volume halfway the distortion is still there and it only goes away when I set it at one fourth volume. This phenomena is reducing its usability greatly for me so I wondered if anyone else has experienced something similar or I have a faulty device and I should exchange it? Guest afiorillo Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 I have the same issue: thinking about it's a design fault.
Guest MrBadgerMilk Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 I actually noticed this on a friends Desire. Mine sounds ok though. Then again, his back cover seems to sit flush with the rest of the phone, whereas mine seems a little loose. Why would 2 identical phones have such differences?

So it is not clear! Some devices has these problems some don't... Ok than i try another approach I'm suspecting that this problem related to some controll issue with the gsm module or its programming. I think so because today I tried to listen some audiobooks through the music application with maximal volume setting, suffice to say the distortion was not present at all. So I kindly ask you guys to tell me your phones software revision numbers. My Desire has the following software versions: Baseband: 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11 Kernel: 2.6.29-97da29ed Build: 1.15.405.4 Thanks guys, I appreciate the help :D Edited May 20, 2010 by quarros
