Guest Freezy1982 Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 First about the battery life. I need to charge the battery almost every day. I use my mobile for sms and some times internet but not much i think 4 sms each day and 3 times of 5 minutes internet. 1) Did you check if WLAN / Bluetooth / 3G is disabled when you don't need it? 2) Do you use an original ROM with TouchUI? 3) Which lockscreen do you use? second... Brightness screen, when i'm outside in the sun i can't see the objects on my screen. I tryed to set the brightness higher but nothing happens... You can adjust your brightness here: Start/Samsung Settings/Display and Light/Brightness (Turn off "Auto adjustment" and adjust with the slider) You also can install PocketLightProfiles HERE for fast light switching..
Guest Jasper91 Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 How can I disable 3G because it's all the time on. Wlan is wifi or not? I use the 6.5 rom for the vodafone mobile from this website and i use the standard 6.5 lockscreen which you need to slide to unlock. The brightness slider doesn't work. thx Jasper
Guest Freezy1982 Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 You can deactivate 3G here: Settings > Network Settings > Band Selection Brightness: 1. Slider only works, if auto adjustmend is deactivated 2. If you are using a custom ROM please check the thread for this problem. Please ask the author of this ROM if this issue is already known. By the way @ daskalos ROMs backlight adjustments are working like a charm... Battery: I have recognized, that using the standard lockscreen of WM6.5 drains a lot battery power for me too. Since I'm using S2U2 I don't need to load it every day ;-) (But S2U2 don't lock all your HardwareButtons properly - your choice..)

Moreover,if you flash your phone, you will have a more powerful device, and a lot of minor improvements!
Guest Jasper91 Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Which roms are you using then because i'm using this one: http://www.modaco.com/content/b7610-omnia-...ial-wm-6-5-rom/ Thx Jasper
Guest Freezy1982 Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 I don't want to advertise ROM's, but I would prefer Daskalos MEGAlite ROM's. Stable, low battery consumption and full customizable because of much free RAM. (But follow the instructions wisely to get it working  ) Here is a list: ROMs

Only automatic/ and some band freq.. I can't find the S2U2 rom. thx Jasper

Guest Sumit Bhardwaj Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) Oh I must say, this 3G trick really works. Even if you are not on a 3G network, even if 3G is not available widely (or at all) in your country like mine (It will be, BTW, from Spetember onwards, 3.5 HSDPA! Yippee! ), switch off 3G and HSDPA if you dont use it. I did it in the morning and even after 6-7 sessions of EDGE connections, phone calls and about 20 SMSs plus some tinkering, I am still at 90% battery. Charged it full in the morning. Usually, i am on 50-60% at this time :D Thanks to all of you who are sharing such good knowledge! Modaco Rocks!! EDIT: BTW, A little offtopic, I use Palringo for instant messaging. But when the phone goes into sleep or is locked, sometimes the internet connection breaks and at other times I can't hear it when someone ping me. Is there some way to avoid this? I just want it to happen while messenger is running in background. Right now what i do is, I put Digital Frame to good use, and use its completely blank screen mode to conserve power. Now, as far as the connection issue, when I use push mail, It doesn't gets broken and I get mail even when phone is hibernated. So I think there should be a way to do it. Anybody wanna research on it? Edited May 23, 2010 by Sumit Bhardwaj
Guest santoo Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) [...] switch off 3G and HSDPA if you dont use it. there's a very nice app on xda dev. called wmlonglife that let's you controll when (or if) you phone should use 3g: e.g. always use 2g unless one of your whitelisted apps requires internet/a 3g network. always return to 2g after x min; or when phone is locked; or when no new data is transferred for x min, or when you connect to activesync/wifi/bt... just take a look, very nice & powerful prog imho  Edited May 24, 2010 by santoo
Guest ErnstJanF Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Very strange... I'm using official JC2, running SPB mobile shell + Mobilesense addon. My device storage is about 30MB, and i'm almost out of RAM. I recharge my phone every night.. but from 10:00 to 01:00 it takes about 10% battery.. I don't know what will happen after that but I think that if this is stable till 0% battery, mine will last for about a WEEK!
