Guest joanorsky Posted May 20, 2010 Report Posted May 20, 2010 Hi there you all.. i have some questions.. and though i have read many many posts here i still don't quite know how to answer them with total sure. So.. here they go.. 1) Are there any ready made android 2.1 ROM available for U8230? (I see many for u8220.. but not for u8230. Some say that boot.img is the only thing to change from the u8220 rom... but.. can anyone confirm me this.. and how do i do it?) 2) How do i root this phone model? Is it the same way as u8220? :D 3) What are the current issues with android 2.1 ROMs? As far as i know.. they're pretty stable on some phones.. just a matter of non-vibration.. right? :( 4) If i am to make android 2.1 to work on my u8230.. what should i do? :( ... if anyone here could help me on this.. i would much appreciate it! ;) Kind regards from Portugal... B)

B) Well.. no one replied.. so here are my findings to the moment. Some ROMs seem to work on some u8230.. and some do not. Most of the users are facing hard problems to root their u8230 phones as the boot.img seem not to be compatible between the u8230 and the u8220. Indonisian users can root and upgrade their u8230 phones.. but Portuguese users are facing some difficulties. Why this happens?.. i know not! Does it actually happens? YES!! ROM are yet not fully stable.. as they to not yet have the vibrating function.. and due to a SQL lite problem the phone reboots (still this can be temporally fixed with a autokill app)
Guest joanorsky Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Update : Vibration seems to work now on standard pulse mobiles (testing is underway still but it looks good). :( U8230 and Red Bull Mobile and TMN A1 .. although sharing same base hardware are not equal. TMN A1 seem to have more RAM and ROM.. :D ... and finally.. Huawei keeps splashing sand to all consumers eyes..

Mine (U8230 TMN A1, sim sou português!) solution is very stable, only problem is the use of wifi with 802.1x, no root and can't do adb. The last one perhaps a Mac problem because I can do fastboot. The solution is Pulse_OscillationROMR7B and T-Mobile_Pulse_21_B815. I'm trying now the android 2.2, do you have a simple how to? Thanks

Guest andreass4 Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 Hey! I would recommend the FLB custom rom... This works REALLY fine on my U8230 and is already rooted ;) First i would install the rom from Paul with his step by step instruction :(

FLB rom as an info "only for 8220" Cheers
Guest Speckles Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 It'd a zip, not an updata, so even if it doesn't work, you still have fastboot + recovery ;)
