hi all,

this is my first post so please go easy on me.

i have an spv and have tried to get it to work with o2,

my simcard is data enabled etc, i have tried all the settings off this site and others as well.

no luck at all.

can some body do a step by step guide to the o2 settings that i need.

it is o2 pay as you go.

i love the phone but after a week of trying settings, i am getting fed up.

never had any joy getting orange to work apart from yhe mms .

after calling orange cs and wasting £10 of credit i binned my card.

please help as desperation has set in.

thanks.

hi hellboundpenut,

Thanks for the reply.

as far as i am aware gprs/mms is available on o2 payasyougo.

i have emailed o2 and they have enabled my pay as you go account.

-------------

Thank you for your email.

I can confirm that I have added GPRS and MMS to your handset and as long as

you have an GPRS/MMS supported handset you should be able to use the service

without difficulty.

I hope that this answers your enquiry. If I can be of any further

assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards

-----------------------

that part is done and my sim works perfectly in my mates sharp gx1.

it's just a case of getting the corect settings for the spv, begining to wonder if it's worth the trouble.

thanks for your reply...........

Regards........

There is a topic in customisation which contains O2 settings for contract.

http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...?t=4861&start=0

You may have to change the Access points as this can differ for PAYG but you will have to confirm this with O2 customer services. Have you also tried the O2 home site for setup ?

Looking at the info, I would try this fot GPRS WAP (copied from repository and ammended for PAYG GPRS - maybe)

goto data connections/menu-edit connections/GPRS connections

Menu-Add

Description: O2 WAP

Connects to: Internet

Access Point: payandgo.02.co.uk

Username: payandgo

Password: password

Primary DNS: 193.113.200.200

Secondary DNS: 193.113.200.201

IP address: Blank

In the "data connections" screen set WAP Connection= O2 WAP

In Internet explorer.

menu/options/connection change Select Internet=WAP Network.

(try ticking automatically detect settings)

create favourite http://wap.o2.co.uk.

Full GPRS internet is another matter as you'll need to find the APN (access point name) for it. Yet again ask customer services.

hi again ,

i rang o2 and went to an o2 store aswell as the carphonewarehouse. The people on the phone in o2 said (after a fair few calls) that GPRS was not avaliable on o2 payg, if you have got it working i would like to know - would be very helpful! i had my sim enabled over the phone, and now i get the "G" at the top of my screen , which is the phone acknowledging the gprs network- But it will not connect... did you get your payg to work ?
