Change rom guide??

I have tried to search on this forum but cant i find a guide on how to change the rom on a desire, is there one about?

Also whats the best method to use to backup everything on the phone?

I've already answered - at the top of the forum is a thread on how to root your Desire - this is needed to change the ROM. Read it.

As for backing up data, you can't save system data - apps can be backed up using appmanager from the market

A few things 325!!

1), You should really be asking on the threads already discussing this.

2), You query has been answered already in the respective threads.

3), You should not of started rooting if you still not sure on things.

4), You have not used SEARCH, its is their for a reason.

5), To backup everything has already been discussed, countless times, again use SEARCH!

6), Be embarrised you have not done your research properly in the first instance!.

but it just bugs me when people just can't be bothered to search or read topics properly.

No worries, its fine. As you say i should of used the search function as there is lots of info on it.
