Edit number before call?

Is it actually possible to edit the number?

I always hated the retarded way I had to write down the number on a piece of paper if I needed to change the 1st digit on some phones (motorola..) More civilized phone UIs allow you to move the cursor to the correct place.

On liquid stock 1.6 and 2.1 with or without LCR 1.6 pressing on the number calls immediately and you can only erase last digit. So with my very smart phone, I need to have a piece of paper with me into which write down the number in call log if I need to edit it?

been looking for this too! useful for adding prefixes to numbers when calling overseas. the closest I could get to a solution is the prefix number app at the market.

The snag here is that the dialog won't actually let you EDIT the number. You can only erase it and retype it. If you tap on the number to bring up the cursor, the number gets dialed automatically. Hence better have a piece of paper with you.

Only workaround I have found is to save the number as a contact and edit the contact. And yeah, adding prefixes is usually the reason to do this, for example you need to add prefix when roaming and/or if you want to call someone back to abroads with carrier of your choice instead of default.

Try Calling Card. I guess that what you are looking for. You can register a calling card number in the application and define pin adn add wait and all sorts of number that you wat to dial before and after a number.
