WiFi signal is terrible, any fix?

Hi

I am experiencing terrible WiFi reception with my Nexus One, compared to the iPhone the reception is terrible

for example if I am in a different room at home I won't be able to see the network with my N1 but with the iPhone I have full reception, and can browse and use wifi normally

is this a general issue for the N1?

is there any tweak / fix?

Anyone mind sharing their experience / suggestions?

By the way I flashed CM and that solved the issue, my wifi signal is much better with CM 5.0.6

I also updated to MCR r15 but didn't do enough testing with it to determine if it helps compared to MCR r14
