Guest Matt Whitfield Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Is that a 2-stroke jobby?? They're well quick... I did an all day endurance "practice" event in a 100cc 2-stroke just outside the M25. You were getting 80+mph off the end of the start finish straight as you turned into a sweeping right hander. Bl**dy great! I absolutely love karting... might be due to how competitive I become when driving anything with 4 wheels... :-D Fast karts are much better as at 6'3" I kinda lose out on power/weight ratio in little crappy karts...
Guest ChrisJM Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Yeah 2 stroke and its great ;)  8)
Guest AlexP Posted April 13, 2003 Report Posted April 13, 2003 I raced 125cc gearbox for about 5 years a while ago. These machines are really something, with power output around 45hp from a tuned 125cc 6 speed engine, all round brakes (which are unbelievable!) and the high grip levels (well in the dry at least!!) Top speed of these in long circuit form is around 135-145 mph / 0-60 around 3 secs. If you really what to see something quick then take a look at 250cc gearbox with those karts can reach up to 165 mph / 0-60 2.6 secs, all of which is 1.5 inches of the ground. I’ve just bought another one recently (to have a play again) once the weather gets better.
