I *think* it was vol-up & on/off button....but i am NOT SURE. keep looking for that combination but u don't have to remove the battery! :-)

To get into recovery.......... * Turn on the device with the volume button held down * Navigate to the 'RECOVERY' option on the menu, using the volume buttons to move and the power button to select. * In your terminal window, enter either 'recovery-windows.bat', './recovery-mac.sh' or './recovery-linux.sh' as appropriate. * It is recommended that you do NOT use the 'USB mount' functionality in the recovery image! Taken from Pauls main guide on how to root!!
Guest 1Geeky Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 (edited) Thanks a lot; My problem was just I didn't know it's necessary to connect phone to PC and run './recovery-linux.sh' for flashing new ROMs. I though this is only for rooting process. Now 'recovery-linux.sh' is the file that only contains in Paul's rooting pack? or every costume ROM has its ? ________________________________________________________________________________ in Addition when I tried to apply a ROM getting this error while I download the ZIP file complete : E:Corrupt file: system/app/HTC_IME.apk E:Verification failed installation aborted. Thanks in advance  Edited May 22, 2010 by 1Geeky

Thanks in advance  Hello again, Oh you did not read the guide properly then??? As it clearly states :- What this root process provides and does not provide The root process will... * flash your device with a new, generic 1.15.405.4 based ROM that has Superuser access * show you how to enter the recovery image in future, allowing you to flash update zips <<<<< HERE!!! The root process will NOT... * enable you to flash your device with a custom recovery image that can be launched easily by just holding down the volume down button when powering on * enable you to have write access to the /system partition in normal use of the device Both of these limitations are being worked on of course. wink.gif Entering recovery in future (For flashing ROMS, Raidos, etc) <<<<<< HERE!!! Included with the root script is a script for entering recovery in the future. To use... And the ./recovery-linux is apart of the ABD file which also has the mac and win versions in their, So no their not IN the ROMS they are already on your system, or should be anyway. Please, please, please re read the thread as this will answer most of, if not all of your questions. Re read here.... And your last question with the error for HTC.IME.apk, i have no idear, the HTC.IME.apk is the keyboard. I think you would be better off re rooting your device to make sure everything is fresh and correct. Good luck anyway :D Edited May 22, 2010 by potter97
Guest 1Geeky Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Thanks,Thanks Thanks :( I owe you dear potter97  So according to this phrase : When this has completed, your device should be at the 'recovery' screen. Select the 'wipe' option, then select the option to apply an update zip from sdcard, and select 'rootedupdate.zip'. This will take a little while, so go make a nice cup of tea. When the flash has finished, reboot, and you are DONE!should I wipe before every flashing ? What does it wipe exactly ? :D Regards ...

What does it wipe exactly ? :D Regards ... Nps, and yes i advise to defiently wipe before every install just to make sure, you dont know what may be left behind, which in turn might screw something up. Think of it like a pc, if installing a new OS would you format the drive?? Yes you would!! Same diffrence here, I have tried all the methords for flashing, and i belive that wipeing everything every time has saved me from having a brick. Wipe = Wipes phone from all stored data, a clean device... Edited May 24, 2010 by potter97
