Doom and Keyboard?

When the keyboard is finally working will we be able to use it with games such as Doom or other types of games? Surely then it would solve the control problems...

depends on the app and how the keyboard drivers work. If the keyboard keys come through as WM_KEYDOWN events same as button presses, then no reason it won't work, except for naughty coders (me) who make assumptions. In gnuboy for instance I set keys in some really naff menu pick lists and it's hardcoded what keys appear on the list.

In some pocket PC stuff you choose the function you want to set and it sets it to the next pressed key. This would be the way to do it to get the functions generic enough and make them hopefully work with the keyboard.
