Guest Edgar Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 A bit of a newbie question - If I have a huge number of contacts, (3000+) (which is obviously more than the phone can handle) can I get a big SD card (256M I suppose) and make the phone start to utilise this storage (or perhaps it will do so automatically)? Thanks in advance and for your patience!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 I have never heard of storing contacts on the SD card, there maybe a registery tweak, but I do not know of one :? Midnight's the main guy in the know.
Guest Emad Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Hmm, are you sure the phone can't handle it? The IPSM folder has about 5-6 megs or so free at the start. Thats about 2k per contact.. I'm sure that most contacts will be less than that as they'll be just a number and a name - anyone know how much space that takes?
Guest v1nn1e Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 6 megs equals 6,000KB, divide by 2KB equals 3,000 contacts! So it can't handle it! are you sure that a contact can reach 2KB in size? Edgar: Have you tried putting the contacts on the phone? Can it handle it? _________________ Vin
Guest yatpeak Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Why don't you just delete a few? Surely you can't need 3000 contacts... Wyatt
Guest caio1 Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Just synced spv with 2100 contacts and took about 2mb. Caio
