Froyo for Liquid?

my question is simple, is it possible to create a Froyo rom for our liquid (cyanogene type)? :rolleyes:

Maybe once N1 get OTA we can try to port to Liquid.

Even if acer release some source, it has modified to many elements to be able to compile a standrad rom from source (specific libs and address)

the update on N1 is OTA, its not more easy to port? (use 2.1 basic drivers?)

But it is still possible to decompile everything, patch and rebuild as needed. Yet it's hell of a work...

for now i think we can only add apps from n1 2.2 rom to stock acer 2.1 rom.

At least one developer (HUSSON Pierre-Hugues) is already working on this. He already had a success in porting eclair to htc touch diamond which is windows mobile device at all :rolleyes:

well as acer got their liquid E coming out soon, I think they will need to upgrade to froyo to make it more attractive. And seeing that other manufactures like motorola are promising upgrades in "near future" I hope that acer also can keep up.

I think we should wait for 2.1 release - 1.6 is too old to start from. And it looks like 2.1 is more generic then 1.6. 1.6 was very incompatible with 3rd party software because of Acer mods. Now everything works, so I guess mods are not so heavy as they were. Please correct me if I wrong.

Yep, Acer did lots of changes to Donuts apks.

Eclair apps are pretty clean, compared to Donut.

When I will be in a better state, i will try to have a look at froyo. Even if i know we will encouter difficulties, it could worth a try. I don't know when it will be, if only that could be soon.
