Guest Sph1re Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 hello all! my question is simple, is it possible to create a Froyo rom for our liquid (cyanogene type)?
Guest Borkata Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 No Android 2.2 source yet to do this. Maybe once N1 get OTA we can try to port to Liquid.
Guest malez Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Even if acer release some source, it has modified to many elements to be able to compile a standrad rom from source (specific libs and address)
Guest Sph1re Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) ok... the update on N1 is OTA, its not more easy to port? (use 2.1 basic drivers?) it's not a full ROM Edited May 23, 2010 by Sph1re
Guest fbsqual Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) sorry , wrong th…… Edited May 23, 2010 by fbsqual
Guest Nesli Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Froyo thread, no flash th. If it could help, here is dump of N1 2.2 froyo ROM http://cl.ly/16Oo
Guest Auxx Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Even if acer release some source, it has modified to many elements to be able to compile a standrad rom from source (specific libs and address) But it is still possible to decompile everything, patch and rebuild as needed. Yet it's hell of a work...
Guest barmyman Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) for now i think we can only add apps from n1 2.2 rom to stock acer 2.1 rom. Edited May 23, 2010 by barmyman
Guest Drizzy Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 It will probably not be possible. Its possible.
Guest Paul Ishenin Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 At least one developer (HUSSON Pierre-Hugues) is already working on this. He already had a success in porting eclair to htc touch diamond which is windows mobile device at all

Guest Paul Ishenin Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Link pls? Read irc log here: http://irclog.netripper.com/?chan=htc-linux Search for phh replies.
Guest koudelka Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 well as acer got their liquid E coming out soon, I think they will need to upgrade to froyo to make it more attractive. And seeing that other manufactures like motorola are promising upgrades in "near future" I hope that acer also can keep up.
Guest Charlton22 Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Read irc log here: http://irclog.netripper.com/?chan=htc-linux Search for phh replies. Wow its great having developers working on froyo for liquid
Guest Auxx Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 I think we should wait for 2.1 release - 1.6 is too old to start from. And it looks like 2.1 is more generic then 1.6. 1.6 was very incompatible with 3rd party software because of Acer mods. Now everything works, so I guess mods are not so heavy as they were. Please correct me if I wrong.

Guest malez Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 When I will be in a better state, i will try to have a look at froyo. Even if i know we will encouter difficulties, it could worth a try. I don't know when it will be, if only that could be soon.
