Now that would be sick, would also be a valid explanation as to why they released 1.6 on Liquid E. Man I hope that is the case. Lol if it is, I'd probably but an Acer laptop or netbook

I sent an e-mail to the spanish Acer Technical Support two days ago, asking them if the Liquid (not the Liquid E) was going to be updated with any of the newest versions of Android, Éclair or Froyo.

They answered yesterday, and the translation is something like "no update has been planned at the moment".

Anyway, there are some really good ROMs that will work well on our Liquids, my device for example is smoothly running Android 2.1 from the post http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...-1-100-05-emea/ installed directly via Acer Download Tool (and selecting the .bin), without any problem.

Acer may not officially release an update OTA because that would mean they also have to take support queries about it. But they can leak it like the 1.100.05_EMEA ROM for those of us who are brave enough to flash it manually.

Now that is a shame since they promised us Eclair. I have 2.1 so it does not matter that much to me but that would not be fair to people who don't flash the leaks. This usaf like the Samsung Behold 2 situation.

If that is the case then whats the difference between a Gen 1 Liquid and a Liquid E, different packaging? Sounds like heavy backtracking if you ask me. What does the E stand for? "E"ndless broken promises or "E"veryone should buy a desire perhaps?? Any suggestions?

When I bought my liquid in february, 2.1 was annouced for march, after delayed to march, after april, after may, and now june....

Hope we'll get it one day, fortunately, we already have some good 2.1 roms, and with Liquid E, we will be able to get it, but the question is WHEN !?

Well, now I just hope Acer will release it with the sources, so we could get 2.2 Froyo easier, as now I even don't want Eclair anymore on liquid, but Froyo :(

Froyo is the biggest performance upgrade for Android. I think I can safely say that it's the last update I need for my Liquid... Gingerbread doesn't have anything interesting that I want as of yet, would be nice to have it, but I really really want Froyo.

But yeah, FroYo is the last update I want on my Liquid as well. Once Gingerbread comes out, sell my Liquid and put that towards a Nexus Two. Thats my plan anyways. Would not hafta worry about updates for at least one-two years.
