Guest StoutMan Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 I've downloaded speed reader plus program but what does it do ?
Guest Palindrome Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 It's suppose to help you read faster by displaying words on at a time at the top of the screen one at a time. I was hoping I could use this as an ebook reader but unfortunately the words could draw fast enough on the screen and some were missed out.
Guest StoutMan Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 Yes ok.... but I get the program working but how do you choose documents or anything to read with it

It originates from the energy saving mode after the update! Just play an mp3 song on repeat in the background (volume on 0 if you don't wanna hear it) and everything will run smoothly, as the phone does not enter the energy saving mode!
Guest DigitalNome Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 The drawing problem has been fixed and works correctly now. To answer the question about picking documents, you can use the Library Utility installed on your PC to send documents and ebooks to your phone for reading. Its easy to use and fast. Can send an entire book inseconds.
Guest Simon Desser Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 I've just bought this app from Handango this morning, and it seems very good. I'm a total newbie when it comes to ebooks, (I've bought one book!) I don't suppose there is any way at all of converting a book which is in "Acrobat format", so that I can read it on my phone. I'm not trying to do anything illegal, I would just love to read it on my phone rather than my PC? I know there are thousands of free ebooks available, but this is one I specifically wanted and paid for. Thanks Simon.
Guest Syvwlch Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Do you have the right to print your acrobat format eBook?
Guest Simon Desser Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 I don't think so? It's at home (i'm at work) but I'm sure I can't do anything with it other than view it on my PC? Am I snookered?
Guest Shuflie Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 If you can't select the text and copy it in acrobat then you are indeed snookered.
Guest Simon Desser Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Thanks  Does anyone know how long it takes for a serial code to come? With any other software I've ordered in this way, it's been virtually instantaneous, but this has been more than 6 hours?
Guest Syvwlch Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 If you search there have been some issues with getting the software key. I'd suggest writing the editor direct, I believe it is Mobile Dynamo? From other threads here on Speed Reader Plus, i understand the PC side software is able to convert PDF so you should be ok with your eBook. Tell us how it goes!
Guest fozzie Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 There's no actual conversion carried out by the software. The user simply does a 'Select All' and 'Copy' on the text in Acrobat and then 'Pastes' it into the Speed Reader app on the PC. It sounds basic but appears to work pretty well. The PC app also does a bit of text manipulation such as removing extra line feds etc before sending it to the SPV. I've only been playing with it for about an hour but am quite impressed so far.
