Guest adi90 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 I don't know if everyone is aware or not , but there is a recovery menu accesible without any pc ! First go to Normal recovery (Red Triangle) by maintaining Vol Down + Power and then press Vol Up + Power This will bring you to another recovery menu where you can : Reboot , Flash from sd , Wipe Data/factory ,Wipe Cache Don't know if it could be useful ! Plus , it work with a desire with usb-issue ! So maybe someone will be able to create something to flash from sd in order to solve the usb issue !
Guest Jeppfi Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 (edited) Edit: Worked now. Edited May 22, 2010 by Jeppfi

That sounds too obvious to have not been noticed but i've never seen it mentioned before. Interesting I guess.

Guest adi90 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 squrl , zip is about 120Mb , so impossible to up here but you can find it in Paul's files for rooting (r4) !
Guest abc27 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 http://androidforums.com/developer-101/866...gning-roms.html Here is a guide on how to sign roms.
Guest squrl Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 In the topic there are only links to TCL iso images, which file are we talking about? rootedupdate.zip? And are you sure the file isn't just corrupted/bad download? I highly doubt Paul woul post an unsigned update file...
Guest squrl Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Just try the MCR custom rom Yeah, I suggest that too.
Guest Shawe Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Shawe , do you have usb-issue ? No, I don't
Guest adi90 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 squrl , yep i tried this file , but actually i have usb-issue so i'm not able to have any adb connection , with this menu we have a flash from sd , so i tried to flash rootupdate.zip (rename update.zip) from this menu , but I have an error that said : signature verification failed that 's why i though it was because the file was unsigned but in fact i might be wrong

I'm thinking this only flashes HTC Signed roms though.
Guest Lyall3s1 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Try the MCR rom then. I'm thinking this only flashes HTC Signed roms though. Even if it did, it may well fix the issue and you can always root again. If you are brave enough.
Guest SgtDavePwnage Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 You cant sign a rom to work on the stock recovery image. You dont have the HTC keys required. All htc android phones have these stock recovery images and they all use the stock htc keys. This is a no go im afraid

Guest SgtDavePwnage Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 Is posible found original recovery and replace with recovery by modaco? We cant install the modified recovery as we cant sign an install with htc's keys All you can do with stock recovery is install a htc signed rom, which doesn't fix the usb issues.

Guest adi90 Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 actually it's just more user-friendly than fastboot ...
Guest SgtDavePwnage Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 actually it's just more user-friendly than fastboot ... A little, but its still completely useless ATM regarding the usb issue im afraid.
