Guest scubamike Posted May 22, 2010 Report Posted May 22, 2010 When the CF03 update to the I910 came out we were anticipating it for months. Most of us were searching Verizon's site, Samsung's site and the forums multiple times a day. The DC22 update came out over a month a go and I had no idea until yesterday. I stumbled acrossed it on a forum for Wisbar Advanced Desktop. Modaco has threads that reference it, but DC22 never even got it's own topic. The flash for my phone when quickly and easily. I've noticed that my call volume is pleasantly louder now. The "Unable to resize image" bug when sending MMS pics is corrected. Some have said that the screen sensitivity is better. I say "maybe". I will say that when I scroll a large web page in Opera it scrolls with less effort, smoother, easier. With the previous ROM, if I didn't keep a consistently firm pressure on the screen when scrolling the haptic feedback would buzz, the page would zoom out, or I would click a link inadvertantly. With this ROM I don't experience that. It is wonderful. Can anyone else give me their thoughts on this almost stealth ROM update release? Here is the link if anyone needs it. I910 DC22 ROM update Here are changes according to Samsung: "•Qualcomm Patch (M6801BSMBRLAZ56205) is updated. Improving overall call quality. •Multiple Updates/Fixes applied to the Opera browser. •Update to XT9 is applied to correct Add word issues seen by users. •Algorithm codec has been corrected to allocate correct amount of memory when attaching a Full resolution image file to a MMS message. This will fix “Image resize Fail” seen by some users."
Guest chopperthedog Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 I psoted this in a different thread but here is my update story. Was never a flashaholic I just constantly f*cked with my device. And realized that my device is not a whoopie cushion, shot gun, magic 8 ball, percussion instrument, piano, and a titty jiggle thing. It's supposed to be a PHONE with some cool features! And never mind every UI/SIP that was installed and removed trying to find the right combo. But I went straight from CC20 to DC22 using an Acer netbook with 7 starter and the UMDL. The only issue I had flashing was the screen height would not allow full veiw of the UMDL so I had plug the netbook into my toshiba 37". So after starting from scratch all registry edits still apply the net 3.5 is key but when I received my first call I was reminded of one edit left out. Stupid increasing ring. HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\AttenuationCategory change to "1" Now loud on first ring. And the in-call volume with DC22 does not need to be changed it's nice and loud from the get go. Also I can't speak for the cabs I just did all registry edits with resco. Things I notice with DC22. 1. I.E. is still a slow piece of crap but scrolling is nice now. I prefer Ucweb 7 anyway. 2. Taking a photo and hitting send mms within the camera returns no errors. even with pic at 2560 x 1920. 3. Cell triangulation within Google maps is sweet (VZW was only a few years behind on this one). 4. GPS lock within 30 seconds in iGO and Google maps without Gps gate or any other app. Things I notice with just cleaning and rebuilding 1. Touch pal doesn't just disappear while I'm typing. 2. WAD2 doesn't freeze when I receive a text/email/mms. been 4 days and wad2 has not froze yet. (knock knock) 3. Everything has pep to it with no delay. 4. No errors on soft-reset (something could not be started because a critical bla bla bla). 5. When I hit button to wake the device up. It does. 6. Screen is much clearer. 7. Battery life. I am at 70% after a normal day of calls, surfing, and texting with weather panel and active sync doing their thing every 30 minutes. Before cleaning WP/AS were set for every hour and after a normal day I would have been at 40% or it would be beeping. So now I have a phone with. WAD2 and no other lock screens WAD has a fine one, Touchpal, SMSChat, iconsoftphonex, Youtube app, Midomi, UCweb7, Gmaps, iGO, Core player, s2p, Rotation Service, Touch Responce and a couple non flash games uno, yahtzee, teeter. And everyone is happy. I see no need for Flash or Java. I could care less if it says "no service" in s2p. And for some reason I also don't need to use SIP change anymore it just stays on touch pal now. Also I am done with boot and shutdown screens and any other goofy sh!t. Original thread with registry edits also. http://www.modaco.com/content/i910-specifi...d-flash-aholic/ It was good to clean house. Very happy with update. good day.
Guest scubamike Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 It was your post on the lakeridgesoftware.com forums that turned me onto DC22. Thanks for the increasing volume change. I forgot to apply as well after the update. Very bothersome without it. What is your thought on the sensitivity? On other sites people have claimed increased sensitivity.
Guest andrew.mazlim Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 This is an official 6.1 update for i910 only, right? Nothing for us, the i900ers?

Guest chopperthedog Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 What is your thought on the sensitivity? On other sites people have claimed increased sensitivity. I do notice that I do not have to apply as mush pressure to scroll or tap something, feels nice. Now whether it has anything to do with the update or the fact that I cleaned house. I don't know. I have always had screen protector and still do so I'm sure there is a small percentage sacrificed by the protector. And did CF03 have cell triangulation working? CC20 did not but GPS worked for me so I stuck with it. good day.

CF03 did have cell triangulation. All in all, I am very happy with the DC22 update. I am quite surprised that it didn't make a very big splash when it was released.
Guest Jaizero Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Anyone having problems updating to dc22? Under version on my phone it says CC26 but when I try to use the official update tool to DC22 it says I already have the most recent software for my phone. Any ideas?
Guest chopperthedog Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Anyone having problems updating to dc22? Under version on my phone it says CC26 but when I try to use the official update tool to DC22 it says I already have the most recent software for my phone. Any ideas? To use the VZW update would require you to reflash to CF03 then to DC22. But the UMDL method is the way I went since I had the leaked CC20 rom. Info and UMDL read method 2 here http://www.modaco.com/content/i910-specifi...m-verizon-i910/ DC22 image here http://www.modaco.com/content/i910-specifi...-download-link/ hope it helps. good day.
Guest Jaizero Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 So if I use UMDL do I need to reflash to CF03? I tried to flash to DC22 using UMDL but while it was downloading the EBOOT it got stuck at 58% and said checksum failed...???
