Ok a quick one this, nice and simple single page Home Screen showing the LongHorn SideBar (it's like a big quick-launch bar but really cool, the original clock on it is anaglogue  wish i could of recreated that)

PS to get the link for Windows Media Player to work you need to place/copy the shortcut to IPSMWindowsStart MenuMicrosoft, i tried to get the installer to do this but it wouldn't work

hey there richie, just a quick question are you running longhorn on ur desktop? or do you have a copy of it? because i would really want to beta test the product. even though it is in its very early stages.

thanx

I've got it on a Virtual PC, it's not stable IMHO enough yet to run as my desktop, although build 4008 is a vast inprovement over 3883 (or whatever it was) it was some nice touches like animated icons  but this is still in Alpha version not Beta!

Is it on the ms site to preview? I remember getting XP from there as a Beta ages ago,not sure if it was supposed to be publicaly available though or if it was leaked

"New longhorn sidebar"? You've been able to do most of that for years! If you have a quick launch panel on your current OS, grab the move bar and move it to the side of the screen. You can turn on auto-hide selectively for each tool bar.

You can also create new toolbars by dragging a folder to the corner of the screen and waiting a sec or two before releasing it.

Nothing new really.

i know what you mean m8, but the Longhorn version is different, one of those things you gotta use it to see the difference (& it's "new" because although you can get 3rd party software that does a similar thing it's never been incorperated into Windows before) especially the clock ;) i'll post some actual screen shots when i get home
