Facebook Contact Pictures to Froyo

I've got Facebook syncing my contacts right now and whenever I go from Desire release to Desire release it always stays the same. Whenever I switch to say a MCR or Cyanogen rom I lose all my contact pictures. I sync facebook and they still dont come back. Is there anyway to switch to froyo and keep my pictures?

I would also love to know this! Same with email addresses from Facebook...very frustrating that we cant just save all the Facebook info with the gmail contact...
