Guest vanhulle Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Took the plunge and bought the Pulse mini, but have to say I am very disappointed with the quality of music player. The sound is very tinny and quiet. Would downloading a different musicplayer app improve this, do I have a duff unit or am I stuck with poor reproduction? Ps I have tried turning the volume up! Any suggestions
Guest chiggz Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Yup, seems to play sound in mono only when I use my own headphones - the supplied ones work fine. I've tried a different music app, and the sound is better. But I didn't like the app so won't try promote it. I'm going to have a dig around and try find an app that allows me to select a folder to play. I don't like creating playlists per album and I'm not keen on keeping the mp3 tags correct..
Guest chiggz Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) Okay so Meridian Player is the best for me - allows me to browse/play folders! I also found ^3 to be pretty good! - I had to restart the phone after an install for it to work correctly Edited May 23, 2010 by chiggz
Guest vanhulle Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Are these any louder/better dynamic range etc? Thanks in advance.

Any suggestions in settings if you go to media playback volume and set that to full, then switch to the radio, the volume is so much quieter! why is the radio so quiet? anyone else having this problem? I tried it in my car with the phone connected to my stereo radio playing with the google nav app cutting in when giving a direction, the radio was much quieter than the instructions given by the google nav app, why? james
Guest vanhulle Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Glad to see it is not just me with music issues. I too have tried adjusting volumes etc but to no avail. Begining to think that it might be a dodgy 3.5mm socket as occasionally the quality does get better, still too quiet to hear when on the train etc, but a lttle better none the less. Then when I unplug and try again, back to the tinny tiny sound! It is annoying because everything else about the phone is great for the price, but I really think the sound should be better than my old SE w810i, or am I expecting too much.
Guest dna108 Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 I've noticed the crappy sound as well. I have found that when you unplug/re-plug your earphones back in and start the music again, the sound is as it should be.
