Guest Squide Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 If I switch on the device and charge, it usually takes around 1-2 hours to finish charging. While if I charge it with the device switched off, over 6 hours still only half-full.. Is it normal ? or anyone experience the same thing? thanks in advance.
Guest jayziac Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 are you using the same charger? some of them allow higher currents, there may be a difference between computer USB port and wall sockets.
Guest chingy1788 Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 I read some where that a USB port will provide only 100mAh of power by default. The USB port will provide 500mAh to a device only by demand. so maybe when the liquid is turned off the device wont request additional power so it will only get 100mAh from the port If you're using the AC charger, thats different, not sure whats happening there

I believe this is because my Liquid became too hot and there must be some kind of sensor to prevent the battery from overheating and this could lead to slow charging times. Probably, while the device is off it charges at a slower time..

Probably, while the device is off it charges at a slower time.. I was using the same stock wall charger, I found that if I charge the liquid with it switched off, the battery is much more hotter than if I charge it when switched on. and at the same time, like what i say before, the charging is much faster and not so hot when it is switched on while charging... I checked that, most of the android phone could only charge when the device is switched on.. or, if you plug-in the wall charge, the device would automatically switch on.. And body got more idea on this ? Seems it's better to charge it with it switch on as the heat may damage the battery.. and short the life of the device..
Guest jayziac Posted May 26, 2010 Report Posted May 26, 2010 Depends on where the heat is. On the Liquid, heat from the bottom part of the back is actually the CPU & chips, the battery would be in the upper back part. I notice a slight warming in the lower back when charging. I can charge it on or off. When off, it seems to turn on into a charging-only state (not the full android OS) that only controls battery charging.
